how often are you bathing your dog? even oatmeal shampoo strips the natural oil out of the skin, and conditioner is for the coat, not the skin.brushing your dog is a better alternative, i brush my dog daily and he only needs bathed once or twice a year. also what are you feeding your dog, sometime an unbalanced diet can cause skin problems

Depending on the breed, she could be about to shed her winter coat for the summer and for growing a new one by winter. When this happens, the fur loosens and tickles and may become itchy. Also Mange is a bacteria that starts on the skin, and the dog scratches the fungus so much that the hair comes out. I say give her a week of daily brushings, and if she's still scratching more than she should, take her to a vet. Also, like someone else already told you - cut down on the bathings, and replace some of them with brushings. Remember dogs have fur covering every inch of their bodies, they are bound to get itchy sometimes without anything serious being wrong.

I had a dog that was missed diagnosed for a year from the vets. She had something called walking dandruff and you really couldnt see it with the naked eye. It is some kind of microscopic mite that causes them to scratch all the time and is apparently contagious! If you rule out any kind of parasitic problem and it is just her sensitive skin, there are some great shampoos like Relief by DVM pharmaceuticals that has Fatty acid for dermal nourishing and Pramoxine HCL to soothe their skin.

Your dog may have an allergic reaction to her food. What are you feeding her? She might be allergic to corn. If you there is none, then make sure you brush her at least once a week to smooth out her oils and as for the shampoo, Oatmeal bath is a good idea.

Had this same problem with my cat she was so bad that she was bleeding so I wrapped tape around her paws. I took her to a vet and they gave me shampoo but I think the reason she got better is because I changed her food. I think she had an allergly to the food I was giving her.

take her to a vet. our dogs turned out to have two problems: one was an allergy to fleas, the other was a bacterial growth on their skin that eventually made their hair fall out. our dogs were lucky, don't wait for yours to have serious health concerns!

Try giving her some wheatgerm oil in her food for dry skin, or maybe she just has allergies.
