I think you're a little mixed up on what you mean magic. Magick as in wicca, enochian, sigil, ect. is not evil unless used by a person for an evil purpose. What you're talking about is sleight of hand. Except for perhaps bending forks which is actually telekinesis and not magick. Most christians don't seem to get how casting spells works. Witchcraft is called wicca, its a pagan and nature worshiping religon. NOT a devil worshiping one like alot of people think. But you could start by defining what is good and evil. Did hitler think he was evil? Did osama bin laden? Did any of the hypocritical and cruel dictators consider themselves evil? The answer is no. Not many consider themselves evil. Good and evil are simply our perceptions. Some may be unjustified in their views but that is what they view it as.

I don't believe for a second that ALL magic is evil. I am a Christian and I believe the Bible. When it speaks of practicing magic I believe it is speaking of conjuring up spirits of the dead and such. I have no problem with leveating.
The only thing I will tell you is this: BE CAREFUL! One day you may be bored and get into "bigger and better things".
Magic is like being in war: The closer you get to the front line, the more danger you are in.
My opinion is different than that of a lot of other Christians including my pastor.

There's a difference between a "magician" in the biblical sense and a "magician" in the sense that you're talking about. Stage and street magicians are illusionists -- they use sleight of hand, diversion, and gimmicks to accomplish feats that look like magic. Sorcerors and witches, on the other hand, are people who incantation and rituals and the invocation of spiritual beings (i.e., demons) to grant their desires, create enchantments, and otherwise manipulate reality. It is this latter system of sorcery that is condemned by the Bible, not the art of illusion.

De 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
De 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
De 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

No. I am a Christian and I attend church and I personally enjoy watching magicians and find magic a facinating subject. You are looking for the people that think Harry Potter is the work of the devil. Magic is only evil if its done for an evil purpose like murder or something.

personally I see things a bit different then most. I believe that the bible is written in such a way that it can mean a little something different for everyone. and you live your life accourding to how you truly in your heart it to be not how others see it. If you do not feel doing magic is wrong and your living a believers life then I believe God will only judge you by what your heart feels is right. I say the heart because the heart cant lie. we all know that no two people think a like because we have our own opinions and our own free will. I think most people who do not believe is because they try to study ways od disproving it instead of excepting what they feel is right. so I say read the bible if you do not feel magic is wrong and you honestly believe it after reading about it then I believe your good to go.

I love watching magicians. They fascinate me. I know there are Christians that get very upset over that....but as long as you know it's just for fun, I don't see the harm of it.
Now, if you actually think you can perform "magic" instead of knowing that it's just slight of hand....that's getting into trouble. There are only two sources of power in the universe, God and satan. If you're using some kind of "power" to cast spells or whatever....it's not of God. I would include bending spoons in that. You're showing off what you think is "your" power. It isn't.
Just doing magic for fun......and better said "illusion", than magic.....I don't see the problem.

The scripture you will want to consider is Deuteronomy 18:10-12: "There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a PRACTICER OF MAGIC or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah God..."
See also Revelation 21:8 where it speaks of spiritism, which includes the magical arts.

Are you talking about sleight of hand tricks? Nothing magical or evil there; they are tricks.
Are you talking aboiut REAL levitation, REAL "mindpower", etc.? That is of the devil and is, Biblically, to be avoided.
Will you go to hell for doing these things? The only thing that will send you to hell for sure, is NOT trusting in Jesus for your salvation. Everything else can be forgiven.

Playing tricks for entertainment is not evil. Otherwise you would be condeming theatre, drama, and pretty much all other forms of entertainment.
However, if you draw on the power of other spirits except God (i.e. demons) it is evil.
Card tricks and coin tricks don't seem to be facilitated by evil spirts though.
