I bought a Yorkie cause they dont shed! Research dogs, some have an undercoat and shed more often, like Rotts and Labs. Just because a dog has short hair doesnt mean it wont shed!

a pug...This dog has a short, compact body; a large, round, and massive head with profuse wrinkles; a short, square, and blunt muzzle; large, bold, dark eyes; straight legs; and a tightly curled tail. The coat is close-haired, soft, and glossy. The color of the pug is silver or apricot-fawn with a black mask, in either case with a black trace from the middle of the skull to the tail; or it is solid black. The animal is about 30 cm (about 12 in) high at the shoulder and weighs about 6 to 8 kg (14 to 18 lb). Because of its alertness, tractability, and friendliness, the pug is a popular pet.

No, short haired dogs shed a lot. The hair stays short because it constantly falls out.
Non-shedding dogs have hair that grows and grows and needs to be cut. I have a Bichon....no shedding and I clip her myself once a month. I do not do the poofey hair, just a short clip.

Any smaller, short haired dog, like a corgi, pug, or chihuahua will do a minimal ammount of shedding. There'll still be some, but nothing a lint brush can't fix.

Poodles, Maltese and Yorkies don't shed.Generally the toy-breed dogs don't because they were bred to be indoor accessories to the rich. (And the rich don't like hair everywhere!)

A West Highland Terrier does little sheding and so do Carin Terriers. But West Highland Terriers can have bad health problems if you get them from a puppy mill. But if you get one from a certified breeder your good.
