Many people do not seem to realize that the layering of the ingredients is extremely important in the taste of any sandwich. I can put all the mayonnaise in the world on the bread, but if the turkey is tasteless or dry, the sandwich is disappointing.Try the following:

2 slices Texas Toast -style whole grain or 12 Grain with Oats and Honey bread.
1 Tablespoon spreadable pure butter
Real Mayonnaise (never Miracle or Salad Whip)
Dijon Mustard (only Dijon - none other)
Thick slices of white and dark turkey meat
4 thin slices of tomato
3 thin slices of Vidallia onion
Crisp inner rib of Romaine Lettuce
2 large basil leaves
salt
fresh cracked black pepper

Spread your bread with butter, both slices.
Spread each slice with 1 teaspoon real mayonnaise.
Place Basil leaves on one slice
Place turkey slices on basil
Spread a good dollop of mayonnaise & Dijon on turkey slices
Layer tomato slices on turkey
Put Salt and cracked pepper on tomato - don't be shy!
Layer onion slices on tomato
Layer Romaine lettuce on onion
Put second slice of bread on top, press lightly, and enjoy!

There really is a difference!! Whenever you are at a sandwich or sub shop, tell them to put your order in this order and it will taste 100% better.

Good Luck!

My most favorite Turkey Sandwich is a Hot one with mash potatos and turkey gravy.
Now the quick way to make it is.

1 small jar of Turkey gravy

Make the sandwich with Bread and turkey, cut it in half, seperate the halfs and put a scoop of mash potatoes in between the two snadwich. Then pour the heated gravy over both the sandwich halfs and potatoes.

I can't make it now, but the one I can make the day after Thanksgiving is the best I ever make. I combine the leftover turkey with stuffing, add two slices of bread with mayo and lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Sometimes I add cranberry sauce when I feel like it making it sweet. Mmmm......thanks a lot! Now I have a craving for one!!!
