No, just flip the switch to on, and the bulb lights and you see the light.

If you are referring to people's claim of seeing a light when they die before they are resuscitated.You can see the light now by accepting Jesus.

Human eyes can not look directly into the light and not be destroyed i.e. "you can not look at my face or your flesh will be burned and die"
The spirit can see the light. If your brain/mind/Id and Ego die to your Spirit, even for a moment ,you will get to see the light while your body lives.

Some people (doctors, scientists, etc.) believe the light is just a chemical stimulation in the occipital lobe. The occipital lobe is the visual processing center of the mammalian brain. So, a chemical stimulation when death is near would make you think you are seeing a white light.

A phenomenon occurring in the brain when oxygen levels begin to go down to dangerous levels (possibly due to by products of anerobic glycosis) Not some spiritual event like some think, more of cognitive-physiological event, nothing more.
