Personally, I think it's a little right and a little wrong. Nothing in life is really black and white, there's always a gray area,...don't cha think?
I mean, me and my mother hadn't talked for just about 4 years until recently. Reason being, I never wanted to become anything that even slightly resembled her. Especially seeing as I knew that there were already so many aspects of myself that I got from her. My self insecurity, my selfishness, and my covetess materialistic tendancy. Those are the very things I hate about myself, and those are the very things I share in common with my mother, I think those are actually her founding values,...lol
Yet on the other end of the spectrum,... me and my mother could not be more seperate, I am a bisexual, she is very strictly against gays or bisexuals. She has religon and faith, I have only partially formed ideas. She has jowls, I have taught skin under my chin (ohhh okay maybe that was just wrong, besides she is 32 years older then me). She has her oath to be a hypocrite, and I try to remain as unjudgemental as possible. Also I am a complete body mod., and even the very thought of a piercing not on ones ears, or tattoos, is violently upsetting to her. We are completely different animals, with a few linking characteristics, yet then again I could have those same things in common with your mother,...or anyone's mother. So there's your gray area, *sidenote, I just forgot, can I spell Grey like grey and gray, or do they relate to seperate things??? Has anyone ever noticed this bizarre word or is is just me?*** Okay back on point!

With sons and fathers though,... I can only say that of my four siblings, all male, only two of them mildy resemble my father, and only one has had the fortune of adopting his very kind and gentle refrain, or distaste of alcoholics. The others alike me and my mother have a few defining similar traits and many very spectrum opposites. So I think it's a gamble, it all depends on the environment and the child, just like everything in life, there's always the X factor,...

Hope that's what you were looking for. I love questions like this that challenge someone on a completely personal level, and not merely an opinionated level, ask more fun ones like this and your sure to hear many more replies from me,...

my mother was insecure, grotchy, abused children physically, insulted adults, holds grudges, spends money to cover up the dirt, and she is not relaible and will turn her back on all of her children in a heart beat.

im very caring, love children, spank as a last resort, go to school, psy major and love to get involved with people and helping

so to say we are 2 different people all around, all over ,and i can never see myself being her

My mom and i usually have lots of arguments 'coz we have our ways of thinking. However my sister told me we were just the same in everything. I guess it's from another person's point of view that we really see it.

YOUR MOM AND DAD ARE YOUR ROLE MODELS AS YOU GROW,THERE FOR YOU WILL HAVE SOME OF THEM,BUT NOT ALL OF THEM AS YOU GET OLDER! WE ALSO TEND TO LEARN FROM OUR PARENTS MISTAKES,SO THAT WE CAN MAKE OUR LIFES BETTER!AND SOMETIMES WE JUST FORGET EVERYTHING THEY TAUGHT US AND TOTALLY SCREW UP OUR LIFES!EACH AND EVERY PERSON HAS THEIR OWN PERSONALITIES AND MAKES DIFFERENT DECISIONS!SO YES AND NO!
