years of corruption and incompetence on the part of Mexico? Do you feel that it's right for american communities to continually be asked to absorb Mexico's excess population? What do you think of this idea, long-term, say for the next 50 years? Will it improve or degrade our country if we fail to enforce immigration law?

I think the Catholic church is to blame for a lot of Mexico's problems. They do not practice birth control and the cycle just continues and continues. People who can barely afford to support themselves bring children into the world they cannot support thus it becomes someone else's problem thus look to America they offer free education, medical and social services that Mexico isn't interested in helping its own people. They sure show up in droves when an illegal breaks the law to ensure their citizens get everything in America that in Mexico they do just the opposite to people in the country illegally.

I have an idea. The USA is the most imperialistic country in the world, the USA has many problems and challenges facing Iran, North Korea and many other countries and hotspots.

Mexicans caught illegally trespassing the border should be drafted into the army and paid a very low wage ( in US standards but still higher than what they would earn in Mexico ).

This would solve the Military's recruitment goals and would not cost too much money.

A great deal of the illegal immigration problem is directly related to Mexico's incompetence. America is tired of absorbing Mexico's lack of motivation to better it's self.

We pay for universal education for our own people, but it is a huge expense. That is why Mexico does not pay for it for its people. We can;t afford to pay for them too. Taking as many as we have already has severly degraded education in our border states and areas where illegal immigrants concentrate,

Continuing on this path would degrade education, health care and other services to the point where only the rich can afford any of those services -- just like in Mexico.

the illegal immigration problem is entirely related to Mexico's corruption. If Mexico was a nice country these people would not have to come here to work.

The mexican people are impoverished and desperate. You'll do almost anything when your kids are hungry or sick. If we don't accept immigrants, we should take down the statue in NY harbor, as her plaque reads, "Give us your tired your poor the wretched refuse of your teaming shores, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
Think about it. Think think think. We are America. We must solve this problem in a way that reflects the intentions of the founders of this country. But, it must be solved!

Finally a question asked by someone with a brain.Just judging by my community, which is now 96% hispanic, there will be no improvement unless you want this country to look like Tijuana. We are importing poverty. Thank you for the interesting question.

it has everything to do with it. why do you think they come here, because they want to break the law, risk their lives and come here? thats obvious why they come here. next 50 years this will all be a mute point, we will have no borders with mexico and canada, you can thank our govt for that, what will you do then,patriot?....
