Sony uses the same easily defeated encryption that everyone else uses. If they decided to change it, no DVD player could play their disks.

Use DVD Decrypter to decrypt and copy to your hard drive. DVD Rebuilder will make the movie smaller if it will not fit on a DVD-5. Otherwise you will need a dual layer blank if you want to keep everything. DVD Shrink will do it all for you, but their picture quality is not that good if the movie is too large.

Nero does an OK job of burning DVD-5's, but I don't trust it with dual layers. Check out PgcEdit. It's free and allows you to remove those stupid warnings and forced previews, etc. It will also control ImgBurn to burn dual layer DVD-9's. ImgBurn is made by the guy who wrote DVD Decrypter after he got sued. It is free and very reliable.

i use a combination of anydvd (decryptor) and dvd shrink for the ripping and nero for the burning
