Depends on the lab and the pictures.

First, major commercial labs do quanity work and these are strung together in long rolls.

Still a person puts the negatives with the prints and they may have instructions as to what they or can't send out.

Generally hard core sex is often a no-no. Sexual organs is often a no-no. Breasts and pubic hair is probably acceptable to some labs.

I've seen nude 8x10s done by Kodak long ago. Small mom and pop labs to them.

Don't forget this is the age of digitial photograph buy some glossy paper and print them at home!

Or do it the old fashioned way and buy a Polariod 600 Classic and some 600 instant color film and cut out the middleman!

Yes nude pictures are okay unless they have a policy forbidding them but pornographic pictures(sex acts) are a no-no. I developed pics in high school at a drug store and nude pics came through all the time. They are passed around and duplicated though so I would suggest using a digital camera or a Polaroid if you want them kept private.

In most jurisdictions, yes, although pictures of children will get you reported to the cops pretty much everywhere, as will "snuff" photos and photos that seem to show violence. Many states also have laws about photos that involve penetration. As others have noted, it's very likely that the lab techs will make extra prints or keep copies of digital files, so think about that, too. If you really want specific info, check your state attorney's Web site or even give the AG's office a call.

Take the film to a professional lab, they understand this type of work and won't call the cops unless there is a serious crime committed. Avoid places like Wal-Mart and drug stores. The kids working the machine will make uber copies for themselves. Have the first shot be of the model's driver's license as proof of age.

Define adult pics. Most photo labs will; however use some common sense there are some freaks out there. Simply put if you're concerned about it get a digital camera and a printer to save the heartache.

Most mainstream companies won't. Some will, if it's one nude person doing nothing "obscene." That's very subjective! Most of them won't if there's more than one person in the frame, even if the others aren't involved.

as long as they are of consenting adults, there shouldnt be a problem. Take the tech aside at the counter and let him/her know what is there and they will give you the all clear.

As long as they aren't illegal. But do you really want the processor to see the picture, possibly get off on it and/or make a copy for themselves?
