OH YEAH!!! Big time!!! The "root cause", could be that ILLEGALS have taken over ENTIRE neighborhoods in my state!!! You hear about them selling drugs out of their house!! The drive-by shootings have INCREASED!! The gang violence has INCREASED! Almost any crime imaginable has INCREASED with the influx of illegals!!!

Yes. I've seen estimates that illegal immigrants make up 50% of the population of California's prisons.

The root cause? Poverty and a home culture that tolerates a great deal more crime than we traditionally do.

anna bee, agricultural workers make much LESS now than they did with UFW wages 15 years ago. The produce price did not go down. Studies have shown that the price of a tomato would go up about a nickle if union wages were paid to workers, because labor is a small part of the overall cost of produce.

I'd much rather pay the nickle and stop paying to educate the illegal immigrants who crowd our already overcrowded and underfunded schools so that our own children can no longer get a decent education.

Not only the crime rate but the quality of life itself. Recently, an illegal alien, working as a "carny" in Modesto put a small child alone in a Ferris Wheel car alone. The child fell out, clinging to dear life for a full 40 seconds. Several witness attempted to tell the "carny" to bring the child down. But since this illegal alien did not understand what was being shouted to him, the child fell to her death.

No, not any that has been documented. I can assure you that the economy of this State, CA, will nose dive without Mexican labor, and that the rest of US will be whining again because no one will harvest their damn fruit, vegetables or wheat.

Hay, alfalfa, wheat will lie in the fields or be priced so high the price of meat will soar. If the producers have to pay a living wage to get things done, ultimately everyone will pay and pay, and moan and groan. Maybe those gungho minute men that are so anxious to play border partrol will volunteer to do the hard labor expected of Mexican labor.

Illegals just want to make a better life fer themselves...they tend to stay far away from crime despite being illegal aliens. hell if I could make more money and a safer life with beautiful babes in another country, id become an illegal alien there. But the US is the best country in the world!!!!!STILL!!!!!

A lot of the illegal Mexicans are members of the Mexican Mafia and they come here and recruit. As a result, such things as drug usage and other crimes have gone up. If they were rounded up and shipped back to Mexico, we'd be a lot better off.

no offense to anyone but the crime rate in my state has been horrible ever since i moved here, probably always has been. I know probably most everyone heard of the bank robbery and killings in Norfolk,Ne. It was all over the news station. that's a prime example of what its like here. Rarely do you here of any other race in my town of there Hispanics. I am not racist but and even my Hispanic friends that live here agree with.
