guy or muslim guy I would have been deeply punished as I was raised Christian. Why does religion have to be such a hateful, out for revenge type of deal. What was ever wrong with just love and peace? I am now a universial unitarian, and whom ever I date in the future I will welcome their differences. Although this country is screwed up right now, I do believe that its one of our greatest assests. To be diverse, to live in a world where all people can coexist, Muslim woman can speak, Jewish men can marry catholic women, and children learn and appreciate the differences of all people from, Hindu to Catholic. Granted not all people are taught that by their parents, we as children who grow up, have the ability to chose one of two things. Love or Hate.

Because all religions believe their's is the right one and all others are of the work of the devil or some other evil force. For a person of one religion to be in love with someone from another was equivalent to loving evil. That's why religious people (not spiritual, there is a difference) hate so much. I am spiritual. You are spiritual. Joe Bob Jimbo off the street is religious.

But thats the good thing, each generation becomes a little more open minded, u'll teach ur children to accept other cultures and ur children will teach their children and so on until the world is a wonderful accepting place, it will just take time for ppl to get over their prejudices!

Well, in the Christian/Judeo bible it says not to marry out side of your religion because a house divided cannot stand, one cannot worship two Gods, and all of that fun stuff. Religion in itself is not hatefull. Overly zealous, most of the time perfectly well meaning people just get carried away with themselves.

Now, some people are just sick and twisted and find abstract ways to discredit religion by using its name for bad deeds.

I would much rather fall in love (you can fall just as easy out as in) w/man of my own religion than another and make the mistake of my children going into eternity without the love of a Living God. I cannot afford to make that mistake.
It is ok to love/respect people but NOT ok to be tolerant of their religion.
I would be damned (sent to hell) if I made a wrong choice.
It makes a difference what you believe when it comes to God....is He your Savior, brother or just another prophet?
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord of Abraham, Issac and Jacob........we call Him, Yeshua, the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is a religious battle we fight that causes the differences you speak about. Heaven is worth fighting for....but it is not our battle......it is God's.
We as people are either for or against one or the other, G(o)OD or (D)evil. We either belong to God or the Devil..only two kinds....
There are good Devil's children and there are bad God's. vice versa.........cannot straddle the fence.

Ever read the Universal Theology of the New Church by Emanuel Swedenborg? He is sometimes mistaken for a Universalist and a Unitarian.

What you're basically asking is that everyone give up everything that they believe in, for better or worse. Either way, it won't happen. People are not easily swayed. This is coming just from a personal opinion. It is not religiously motivated. Sorry to be pessimistic, but I don't think what you ask for will happen.

Let's all join hands and form a great big circle and sing happy songs of acceptance...that's nice! La la la la la.

Hey wait a minute you below me... you are spoiling the happy song thing and claiming religious superiority for monotheists already! trouble maker!

I think that anyone should be aloud to be with anyone else. If society doesn't like it, they can kiss my big IRISH butt. Whites can date blacks. Christians can date Jews. Cats can date dogs. As long as nobody is gay. Because the gay ones can also kiss my big IRISH butt.
