You should thaw if first. If you are in a rush, use the defrost setting on the microwave. If not the outside will burn and the inside will still be raw.

you can barbecue it frozen but i suggest putting the chicken away from the flame with the lid closed for about ten minutes so it can thaw out some then move it the hot part and cook it as long as you normally would. This prevents the outside of the chicken getting burned before the inside cooks.

I would make sure the chicken is thawed before putting it on a BBQ. If u put frozen chicken on then the outside will get burnt and way too done before the inside is cooked! Never take a chance on chicken of all things! Make it thawed chicken! Defrost it in your microwave if you need it faster. Good luck to u

NEVER THAW ANY MEAT IN WARM WATER! Bacteria will be so happy you did. Because of the consistency of chicken meat I agree that you will have a dry chewy outside and waste much of the meat by trying to cook it without PROPER THAWING. You should thaw the meat in the fridge overnight for best results. Microwave thawing is best done if you are real familiar in how your microwave works otherwise you will half cook the chicken making the rest taste like rubber. Never leave anything at room temperature and NEVER thaw using hot water. (Unless you want a trip to the ER.)

Do you have a hard floor, like tile or wood? If so, you might want to slide them around on the floor first. It won't do anything for the meal, but it will make for great story telling for this dinner...

It's better to let them thaw, but you can. It'll just mean that the outside will char and burn quite a bit.
