I think that argument has some merit. There are some people out there that'd be very comfortable with the idea of 1-world government, they need to like, find REAL jobs or something....
maybe dealing heroin? LOL
I think part of the changes we're seeing are also a reaction to the fact that there are now 6.5 billion people in the world. I think there's always going to be 'a government', of some kind, and the government of countries that only had a total of 1 billion won't keep up with a population of 6.5 billion. Neither will our resources, so we gotta adapt somehow...I'm a full believer that NO global changes mean that americans are supposed to give up their civil rights, that's why they called them 'inalienable' back in the Constitution etc., means the government can't take em away.
I think if people exercised them a little more, and did so intelligently, this world would be a better place for it, because throughout history, the best innovations seem to come from individuals or small groups, people that happened on an idea and saw it through. Microsoft, for example, started out as like, 6 guys in their basement etc. Now, their software runs most of the PC's in the world. That's a symptom of a free society, if you ask me, Orville and Wilbur, bicycle mechanics, built the first really functional airplane, innovators, creators, these are the problem-solvers. That's what america's all about, freedoms and liberties, and a little money sure wouldn't hurt.
National ID's been talked about, it's got a positive and a negative,
I always thought that microchip implant thing was paranoiac science fiction, but they've got em now too, for your dog.
We've got people that go nuts on both ends of the spectrum, the control freaks and the liberty hounds...I'm more for liberty than control, I think you get to the point where there's such a thing as too much control, and that makes things go worse. It's like if you drove your car with your hands really tight on the wheel, you'd run back and forth left-to-right all the time, other drivers would think you're drunk etc. If you kinda keep one hand on the wheel, your eyes on the road,be awake and sober, and your tires filled up right, it's smooth driving for hundreds of miles...

Well, apparently you still have the freedom to ask the same question twice. Try googling WWII, or hit the Wikipedia. That way you might find out what we were fighting against in that war. Similar situation, I suppose, in that we were part of a coalition united to support freedom.
If we were becoming what we fought against, then by now we would have occupied Mexico (rather than seemingly the opposite) and Canada, and probably most of N America. Anyone who opposed that viewpoint would be in prison camps or dead, not asking questions on Yahoo. Iran and Iraq would be large reflective surfaces, and N Korea would be one giant crater. And I wouldn't be supporting that government.

I take it you are against the national ID card? It is not as if everyones information is already in the hands of the government; the national ID card will just allow you to be able to prove you are who you say you are by pulling it out of your wallet. World Government? so you are against the UN? no civil rights have been violated, even when a newspaper printed CLASSIFIED information all the white house did was threaten to take away their access to classified information

That's as bad as them wanting to put chips under the skin so they know right where you are. An I.D. chip. It's getting worse by the day. And they also want to refine sewer water into drinking water. I, for one don't want to drink water that people have gone #1 and #2 in. They should be the first ones made to drink it.
