I want to transfer some short video clips I have taken recently on my digital camera, so that they can be played on DVD players. The files all seem to be in the .THM format, after I downloaded them onto my PC. I have 2 pieces of software that I am trying to now put the movies onto DVD with- ZoomBrowser (came with my Canon camera) and Ashampoo. Neither one will move the movies over. The movies play fine on my PC. I just cant get them onto DVD. Is there an easy way to do this? Do I have to buy some new software to do this? Will this video play on all DVD players? I thought this was going to be easy, like burning a CD, but man am I stuck!

There are a couple of approaches to this:

1. Burn a CD or DVD with files that a DVD player can recognize. For example, most newer DVD players can recognize and play MPEG video files. I am sure there are others. Check your DVD player documentation.

By the way, I think the THM files are just some sort of descriptors. The .mov files are the ones that play on the pc.

This method will depend on individual DVD players' capabilities.

2. Create "real" DVD's, like the ones you get at the video store. These are much more complicated and require video editing software and DVD creation software. (This is different than DVD burning software which just writes your files on a DVD.)

DVD creation software goes through a "rendering" process which places all your audio and video into special standard files. It can take hours.

Even then there is no guarantee of universal compatibility. Home equipment is just not as good as professional equipment. Still, you can get most DVD+R and DVD-R disks to play on most DVD players.

You'd need burning software like Nero or Roxio. These programs would convert your videos into standard dvd format & burn to disc. Some newer dvd players can play avi files, in which case you could burn the videos as data discs.

You might want to convert the movies to MPEG format (VideoCD). While this is not a true DVD it will play in most DVD players on the market today. Nero recode can convert files to DVD but you need the to buy platinum or ultra package and it is a slow process. If you are on a budget Nero standard (oem version) makes a good converter as part of their cd burning software to convert to VCD but, I am not sure it can convert the THM format but if you have nero give it a try.

Patriot Self Defense system is successful for two primary reasons. The first is that it use simple actions incorporated from all the very best combating designs available. The 2nd is that the manufacturers of this program didn't quit there, they took these actions into the laboratory and ran all sorts of clinical tests to collect as much data as feasible prior to setting to work to evaluate this data and assembled a clinical industrialized self-defense system that rather frankly reinvents the sector.

Have you tried finding a file converter program? I can't think of one offhand that is free, but there are some that offer free trials.

I've provided a link where I searched 'video converters' at download.com. Hope that helps.
