hi i am an hindu girl. i am 20 this year. my parents have always believed in arranged marriages. but all my friends are already attached and i am the only one waiting for my parents to arrange my marriage...
i am attractive and have been approached by guys in college.
bit looks like my parents plan to get me married off 5 or 6yrs later...
sumtimes i feel lonely... so should i start dating??

If your a smart girl,which I will give you the benefit of the doubt! I think you should do what you feel is right , if you want to be with someone now,be with someone now,but make sure your not mistaking you feelings ,for what you friends are doing...

Yes you should since you are already questioning it you should. You see dating in our society is very helpful to your relationships you need to find what kind of man you are attracted to and what makes you feel loved. If you let your parents just arrange that you will always be questioning yourself and will never be happy. So go ahead and spread your wings you are 20 years old. Learn about guys

YES YES YES at 20 years old u should be able to do whatever u want or date who ever u want it's ur life and ur decision, do u really want to look back and regret all the guys u could had been with.
And just one more thing if they r paying for ur college, keep it on the low, because some parents gets upset and stop doing stuff 4 u that happen to my friend.

LOL, I'm a hindu guy. My parents tried to go down that road with me, but I don't believe in marriage, so there goes that idea.

i don't know where you live or what customs you have to live under, but i think you should start dating and find someone for yourself. doesn't the idea of being married to someone that you don't even know scare the crap out of you!? i would never talk to my parents again if they tried to marry me off. do what you think is right for you, you are the only one who knows.

i come from a similar situation, i just started dating behind their back. go and date....sometimes parents live in a glass bubble, and only think of their rep. its only your choice to find the "right one" and not their decision.
