what does one get by accumulating points anyway?

I don't get it either. I am bored out of my mind so I come in here to laugh at most of these questions and to try to give advice to those who won't listen to me anyway. I guess I do it just to pass the time.

The only way I can think of would be for you to give your account name and password to someone else... or ask a whole bunch of questions, which takes away five points per question - that way, you can get rid of your points and give many, many people 2 points and whoever you like the best 10 points :o)
Points are really just a status symbol. Kinda a way of saying 'ooh, look at me, i'm such a smarmy git, look how popular I am and how many questions i've answered'

Okay, I've got it. You continuously ask questions, then give best answers to-well, whomever.. It'll take quite a bit of time to get rid of your points, but hey, you're still giving away free points.

No, the only way I think you would be able to do it.....well, never mind because you can't!!! But you can always give someone the best answer for 10 points. just ask a lot of bogus questions, and the first answer is the best answer!!!

I don't understand the point thing either but I hope that you'll continue with yahoo answers. I know that many of the questions are pretty dull and silly but some are pretty interesting.

You can use up all your points by asking a heap of questions. Asking a question takes 5 points off you.
