There's not much difference, brown eggs are more likely to belong to chickens that people keep themselves, there aren't that many chickens that are good to look at that lay white eggs. Eggs can come in a variety of colors, dark brown, light brown, white, and even turquoise blue, green, or pink. The reason that brown eggs may taste better is because when someone keeps chickens at there house and around wooded areas they are more likely to get nutrients from earthworms, buggs, etc.. and they get fed more often then chickens on a large scale farm who are kept in dirt pens. There aer more types of chickens that lay brown eggs then just rhode island reds, off the top of my head i can name australorps, wiondots(brown speckled, silver speckled, peppered, any color) red sex links, black sex linds, orpingtons. There are many many breads of chickens and they lay many different shades of eggs.

The eggs were laid by two different types of chickens. Other than that there is no difference in the eggs. ( I saw this on Martha Stewart.)

Well, only the color of the shells..that is the truth and is supported by this quote from the source: "there is no significant link between shell color and nutritional value"
