Get another cat. She might not get along with her new feline buddie at first, but everything will be ok in the end. I know many people who have 2 or 3 cats, and they get along very well. I only have one cat too, but I'm seriously considering getting a second one because my cat is lonely too.

Do you still have the dog? You've had for two years -- she has surely acclimated by now. Are you paying lots of attention to her ? That will take care of most of it. I don't know if everyone in your household works all day, or if someone is home -- but if people are home and paying attention to her she should be pretty satisfied. I'm hesitatant to recommend another animal since she's older and in place already -- sometimes that's a hard transition for the existing pet. Another kitten, or PUPPY maybe, but that's another big adjustment period.

She needs another cat, I have a cat he was the same way. It didn't matter how much I play with him, he was lonely for another cat. If you can't get another cat, maybe a friend or family maber who has a cat can bring there cat over for a play day every now and then.

She looks lonely how? Is she on you constantly looking to play or for affection? Have you considered getting another cat? The animal shelters are always overflowing so you would be saving a cat and finding a new buddy for your one at home.

In my opinion, cats are complicated little creatures and it may take some time for her to feel comfortable. My cats love it when I lay on the floor...eventually they'll come over to me to be pet and lay next to me. Some cats like to bond with only one person. How about getting a soft brush and brush her...most cats like that.

How does a cat look lonely? If she's sitting off to the side it's because she probably prefers that to the company of your dog. LOL

Get a stick, tie a string on the end, then tie a feather or bunched up saran wrap at the other end. Then bounce it in front of her. A live mouse tied to the string should liven her up as well! :)
