You should be able to purchase cortisone cream from the pharmacy at .5%. apply it twice a day to help clear up the rash and give her a thorough grooming.

If it looks like scabs under the cats chin the first check the cats food bowls. If you are using plastic dishes for your cat to eat out of then it is probably an allergic reaction. Cats tend to be allergic to plastic so because they are constantly at the dish they develop an irritation.

So that is probably all it is. If you are really concerned, put some plolysporin on it until you can get to a vet. that will prevent it from getting infected.

If it is just from the bowls then you need to change them to metal or ceramic and the sore will heal itself eventually.

good luck.

Could be ringworm and if it is you can get it from your cat too! Take it to the vet tomorrow and ask him. If you are really upset and don't want to wait till tomorrow if you call your vet the answering machine will usually give you a number you can call in case of an emergency there is always a vet on call after hours.

another reason that it could have the rash is because it could hav a bot-fly in it which is very dangerous do to the fact that they give off a poison. so you should take it to a vet. and if it is a bot-fly try to have it removed as soon as possible or if you vet suggests not to for some reason go with his/her opinion.

oh and don't try to get it out your self you could pop the little bugger and it will release all its toxins

If you have a regular collar on her, take it off. Use a very fine tooth comb and comb her around the area. Could well be fleas.
Also - Head and Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo. Will not hurt her. Make sure you rinse it well.

If the rash wasn't caused by a rope hanging from a tree limb it should have been. Tied more securely that is!

she may be doing this to herself by scratching at her ears , she may have ear mites very treatable, or she may have what is called millinery dermatitis, just a skin infection treated with antibiotics. don't be scared I don't think its any thing to worry about but she is uncomfortable so treatment is necessary.
