My daughter had jaw surgery. You will be asleep for the surgery and one side affect is your jaw goes temporarily numb but when the feeling returns you will be healed. The biggest issue she had was that she was not permitted to blow her nose for 6 weeks since they cut through her sinuses. If you blow your nose the stuff goes in your face and not out your nose. Which can cause major problems.

All surgeries hurt to some extent because you are altering the body...it won't hurt during the surgery but post-sx will have some pain, thank goodness for very strong pain meds...you will be fine...

If you have surgery in the USA it does not hurt. Thank your lucky stars that you will be anesthetized and will have medication for pain relief afterward. Good Luck !
