i personally think that it's not safe to only have power windows because what if they went out -- for safety they should have the manual cranks in there too.

OK, so here's the deal... why don't they have a power option on manual windows for when those regulators fail. Why don't they put an extra engine in the trunk in case the original one goes bad. Why do they only have one spare tire... I mean hell if you ran over a bunch of debris you would have four flat tires. Why don't they have _____________ your next ***** here........

They don't do that for practicality. I don't see power windows fail any more often than manual. They both have the same problem (window regulator goes bad) and most people fix it when they go bad. Most dealerships keep these parts in stock (because most people want their windows to work) so there is no real safety concern about not being able to open the window.

Now if your door is broken too then you are an idiot. So even if the window won't roll down then you can open the door (most normal way to exit vehicle anyway) and if you are too cheap or unable to afford to fix these things then BUY A BICYCLE!!!!!!!!

Amen! My mom's car had power windows that died and an a/c that didn't work - in the south that's a recipe for heat stroke! What a fabulous safety suggestion that would be - auto manufacturers should listen up!!!

That would be good. they do have a pointed devise that you can buy at any auto parts store- it is for window breakage in case of an emergancy, and if anyone was in a life or death situation- I think most people wouldn't think twice about busting out the window.
I keep a screwdriver in my glove compartment-just in case!!

i agree to a point.. i mean if they go out.. it'll cost a buncha money to repair.. but i think that they dont also have the manual way to put them down because they figured that they wouldnt need it because the mechanical windows would be fine.. i dunno.. lol
