Because they have had it so good for so long that now they believe they are entitled to the programs that they have abused and bankrupted. And they just like to whine since May 1, 2006.

Because then the illegals wouldn't be able to sponge off the benefits that are for OUR citizens and those that are in this country legally. Besides, a criminal and those with a criminal mentality don't want to follow the rules and will go out of their way to get what they can even if they don't deserve it

I think it is because of an entitlement mentality. They (and all people here illegally) think that they are entitled to US citizenship if they can sneak past border patrol or overstay a visa. Once they get here they join their colony in the US and have tons of organizations and groups that help them and tell them they are entitled to everything under the sun.
They figure that they broke our immigration laws to come here and people still help them and no one is trying to deport them, so they can continue to break as many laws as they want.
Zoning laws, tax laws, identity theft laws, identification laws, etc are all just inconviences.

Because then illegals would not be getting any assistance. And if they are Mexicans, they are obviously not Americans and shouldn't be getting services.

Wow- Scott just sent me a semi-nasty email telling me I should explain why his quation is racist.
Ok Scott, it's easy... You are grouping ALL people of one race ("why are the mexicans") into a singular judgement of their behaviour based upon their race.
If you can understand that, you can see how your question is racist.
It's the subtleties of racism (such as that in your question) that are the most insidious.

I agree too, it seems logical to me. If you're illegal, our country won't come to your need, we have our own citizens to worry about. We can't give hand outs to the whole freaking world.

not just mexicans, no one should be able to get my
dollar without proving they have a right to be here. and
yes, i pay taxes so it is my dollar they are getting, not
some nameless faceless government.
