It wont do her any harm at all. She dosn't need a vet. Animals eat everything in the wild. Bones are full of marrow, guts are full of organic matter so dont stress. SHe might up chuck some bones of feathers later, but like I said, it's nothing to worry about. My cats catch mice and seem to love eating just their heads! Eeeeww not my cup of tea, but I'm not a cat!

If I were you I would not be so worried. Your cat has probably done this numerous times without your knowledge. The size of the bird is an issue, but since you wrote that it was over in about 30 seconds I do not think the bird was all that big. You might want to keep your cat inside for a few days, or wait till your cat has more than one bowel movement. I know that they are nice and cuddly, but they are still cats.

I wouldn't worry about it if she killed it and ate it but if the bird was already dead from who knows what cause you might go have your cat checked out by a vet but it's really to late she has already eaten it and is digesting it. I don't know if the vet could do anything other then give her medicine if she shows sickness from ate it.

I saw my cat do that...it was funny, he bit off the head then opened his mouth and started eating it like a snake, whole. No it didn't hurt him, but he slept for a LONG while after eating it, I'd make sure the cats vaccinates are up to date though.
This is one of the many reasons cats < dogs.

That is not unusual. Mine ate everything but the beak once! Some cats never want to chase or kill and eat birds and others love to. It shouldn't hurt her. I am surprised at her age that she was able to catch one!

Pet the cat for a job well done. It comes natural and it keeps them young. Some cat just kill it and lay it at your feet. Congratulations!

Probably nothing unless she gets sick, but I doubt it. Cats will eat a bird bones and all. They like it!

Hi whatsername3...
Your kitty is awesome! I love cats. And this is what they do. --- You're cat probably has eaten a lot of other birds before too, but you just didn't know it.
If your cat is happy - prrrrrrr - then you should be happy too.

Your cat should be fine, My cat is 22 yrs.old & I saw him eat plenty of things in that sort, the most she might do is puke it up.
