All dogs are different. For the first 24 hours, most likely (depending on a lot of things like breed, age etc) are going to be the hardest. Some bounce right back and never miss a second. But after about 3 or 4 days you should not notice anything. He should be eating and drinking normally, but he might still be sore, especially if he is a small dog and you pick him up wrong. Just give it a few days. He will feel better soon!

It's at least 24 hours for the anesthesia to leave his system. Then he's going to feel bruised for...say a week. About the same time you would if someone snipped on parts of your anatomy.

about 10 days when he can start going for walks again. The effects of the neuturing will take about 6 months to kick in.

About 24 hours after the operation, the anaesthetic should be fully worn off.

He should be feeling more like his old self again in a few days.
If he is only young he will probably be running around again before you know it!
Give him a big fuss from me!!!
