in Colombia you can notice two different environments, one is city, the other is nature. in both you can find nice people warm and caring about you. Of course in our country violence exist, but where it doesn't? so people makes the difference in each part of the world. economically we live in a relation of 1:3 in comparison to the States. it means if u buy 1 burger in the states u can buy 3 burgers in colombia, maybe you can have potatos and soda too!!.
you' re invited to Colombia.

I was there for the month of december is this past year. My friends and I had an absolute blast. We are all fluent in Spanish, so that made things that much more enjoyable, but the country and the people are great. Colombians are very aware of their international reputation, so they more than make up for it in their hospitality and their patriotism for Colombia. Like one of the answers below, there are loads of great museums and places to visit. We felt safe everywhere we went. If you want to see some pictures via shutterfly just let me know, or some specific places...just ask. You'll have a great time!

OH..and about the people being HOT? 100% true. Some of the most beautiful people I've ever laid eyes on.

Colombia is great. I have vacation there many times and have friends and family living there. There's a great variety to the climate and terrain and ecosystems. There's great food to eat, great music to dance to, many bars and clubs and great restaurants. There are also many beautiful towns and villages to see, many of which were settled hundreds of years ago by the Spanish.
Of course, there is also a very rich history, which can been seen in museums such as El Museo Nacional and, even more impressive, in the Museo del Oro, which is museum of many gold artifacts that were crafted by the native people of Colombia many hundreds and even thousands of years ago.
Feel free to contact my Yahoo answers account if you have more specific questions; I could write many pages about all the great things to do and see in Colombia.
