The best way to tell if someone is a thief is to leave a small amount of money in a place in your home where it looks like you forgot about it. The location of the money should be in a place where the potential thief can easily find it, but still a place where it looks like you forgot about it.

I say if u hang out with someone and u feel uncomfortable when they are around then most of the time our natural intuition is kicking in and u should beware. don't allow that person to spend the night or be alone in your place. Thief's have many ways of getting what they want. Don't give out any info of when you may be out or your work schedule when these people are around. I know from experiences of my own.

I think if I thought they were a thief they wouldn't be at my house much less spending the night there. Of course you never know what some people might do

they might not be that dumb... i tried that with my co-workers during my business trips in a hotel... and he said "why would i steal something from u if u know I'm the only one in here besides u?" and he did got a point
