Sometimes when I try to create a username, it says the username is already taken. So if you really want the username, you can add numbers at the end. My guess is the numbers probably have some meaning to the user; otherwise, it would be hard to remember.

It may be what they feel is their lucky number, if the number is 1 or 2 digits.

It looks like to me, the LONG numbers are numbers they read off of a fortune cookie fortune.

On the reverse side of those fortunes are supposed to be your personal lucky numbers and they're always long.

A lot of people hope they are right and even use them to try to win the lottery.

Maybe, they think those lucky numbers will help them find their true love on here or get better answers.

Just a guess.

Because they think they are so creative when they come up with a name like cutiepie but then when they try to set it up they realize that 5,000,000,000 other people have already used it. Then they are forced to randomly enter numbers in hopes of finding one that isn't used or just taking whatever screen name they can get.

If their internet name was Tinkerbell it may not be available because someone already has that name. Then you may be able to have tinkerbell and some numbers after it

Even the creative names are all taken. It's rare that a person can find a name that has not been claimed that actually makes sense or sounds/looks good.

UM. When you open up an email account, so many people probably already have that name. So the computer automatically prompts you to a name no one else has. So typically no one pics those names, the email provider does.

i hate using numbers that's why i choose to put my initials around my nickname ace and no one has yet to copy me so I'm probably one of a few people with a unique user name

They often do it because the military and the Department of Defense use similar numbers for their email addresses. Since it is illegal to send junk email to military addresses, many people use similar looking email addresses to try and fool spammers. This really does work sometimes.

It's not part of their name.. IT'S THEIR IP NUMBER.

IP = Internet Protocol
