I just cut my hair about 8 inches, I wanted a change so I cut my super long hair to my shoulders now people are acting all disappointed. What's the deal?

eaither jealousy or they really liked you with long hair. they should eventually get used to it. just let it go. if you like then thats all that counts. if you dont like it then hair always grows back, right.?!

Don't worry about the people who look only at the exterior.
Long hair on a woman is often equated to sex appeal....and
people may be used to seeing you with longer hair...short hair
is cool...shows strength that you wanted to try a change for
yourself..your true friends and people who value you for who
you are will find your new look awesome...because it reflects
your inner strength and sense of self...some people can't handle
such a drastic change overnight....I bet you look beautiful either
way....if you like your new look that's what matters..if you are
disappointed in the reactions of others and that hurt your feelings
don't allow these people to get you down...sex appeal comes
from within and strength of character is a great trait to have!!!
Oh, and yes people suck...when they let you down...

You probably looked gorgeous with the long hair. The new look probably is still beautiful, but we are creatures of habit and get stuck with the norm. So they are surprised.

They were probably so use to your long hair and are having trouble adapting to your short hair
