Wow, fundamentalist Taoists ... bizarre!

Anyways:
1. Yup, sure does!
2. Aren't you thinking of Zen? I find the Tao pretty describable. As did Lao Tse and Chuang Tse!
3. I agree
4. I don't think it's a religion dude - no god.
5. I agree - the Tao simply is. Does this mean the school of thought has something to offer or not? Dunno.
6. Look at that frown! You're like a Confucianist vinegar taster! Get those carvings out of your block! Seriously though, what do you mean "doing it"? I mean, I like the principles - a lot - they fit well within my life. But how do you 'do' Taoism?

Hope I get some more answers. This is cool.

All religions can be used for awakening or bondage. Taoism is one that can be used for awakening and spirtual freedom; however, it can also be used for bondage as yet another trap for the ego that thinks Taoism is some cool, special thing that entices our sense of mystery and gives us a nice new identity from it. These things are tools to be used to become extremely ordinary and see ourselves as the same as everyone else -- and especially to avoid any feeling that we have the truth or some keen insight that others are lacking.

The Tao simply is. You may interpret it as you will.

If that is how you describe it. I believe it to be indescribable.
