I recently contracted a small case of ringworm. From where? I have no clue. I took my cats to the vet and they have no signs of the infection at all..so maybe i got it from a freinds or something..there is no telling. Anyways, I have been to the dermatologist for it and he gave me a topical cream to use. My question is is you are being treated for it are you still contagious? If so how long before you are not contagious. This is the first time i have ever had anyting like this..it totally freaks me out!

Also, how long does it take before it starts to go away where you can not see a red ring?

You are contagious until it COMPLETELY disappears.

I JUST WENT TO MY DOCTOR ABOUT THAT, HE GAVE ME CREAM AS WELL. MY DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT EVERYONE HAS IT, SOMETIMES IT FLARES UP AND THATS WHEN WE SEE IT. I GOT MINE FROM EXERCISING AND SWEATING TO MUCH--FORMING A HEAT RASH AND THEN RINGWORM. I WORK OUT IN MY OWN HOME, AND NO ONE ELSE I KNOW HAS IT SO I DONT THINK THAT ITS CONTAGIOUS.
