I am sick and fed up about questions being posted that degrade a religion...i even stooped to such a low level that in the spur of the moment i also created a question to get back at the people who insulted my faith....

If you did read that question...i'm sorry
But here's what i think about all religions when my head is calm and clear:
1) All religions promote peace
2) All religions promote love
3) All religions teach to help the less fortunate

Religion is a way of viewing a divine force that drives this earth in DIFFERENT WAYS...and all these paths (religions) lead to the same end (the force of the universe)

So if you believe in God - its Okay
If you believe in Allah - Its Okay
If you believe in Ram- thats fine too

I just really wanted to get these things off my chest after being called ignorant...im not ignorant and i love all religions around me: it's just that some posts that people make have really disturbed me

I also don't understand why people are not tolerant of the religious beliefs of others. Many religions believe that THEY alone have the answer. But, we all are part of the ONE and therefore all brothers and sisters although we take a different direction to arrive at the same place. "All paths that lead to God are right paths". I see power and the ego at play here- man's need to be right, man's need to be "better than", his need to control and manipulate. Religions may be God based but they are run by fallible humans. Throughout history fratricide has been commited by religious leaders by mounting crusades, inquisitions, cleansings, witch hunts. Tens of thousands of Cathars in France were slaughtered because they had beliefs different from the Catholic Church. Some religious beliefs are tangled up with land ownership as in the middle east and Ireland. I had hoped that we would have evolved since then but there is still much work ahead of us. As long as there is just one person who will kill another for any reason or hurt a child or turn their back on their neighbor or not give another the respect of allowing them to have a different faith, there is much work to be done by people who are true to the beliefs of their own religion. Be an example, be brave, be peaceful, be tolerant- as I was told during a meditation after I had asked "What's it all about? Why am I here?" The answer,
"unconditional love".

I agree with your outlook on religion and how things should be. Unfortunately, most denominations teach that they are the ONLY way to worship, and that non-followers are heretics or heathens. In some cases, the scripture of these denominations will state that unbelievers should be punished and/or destroyed. I think that's the main problem, to be honest.

What we don't understand we fear, what we fear we hate, and what we hate we try to destroy.

I personally believe that all people of Faith worship the same God. We worship in different manners. The problem is that we don't all heed the Lord's word, especially our religious leadership. If they and we did, I believe that their would truly be world peace and then what would the "moneychangers" do ?
