Almost all orbs (within photos) should NOT to be considered supernatural. Most are due to the conditions at the time or even the camera being used. Digital cameras are notorious for converting dust and other airborne particles into orb shapes in photos through lens refraction."

That does look more on the spiritual side of orb photography.
Unfortunately, orbs captured with a lower resolution camera, such as 640x480, may not provide sufficient resolution between natural amomalies and spirit anomalies for analysis. Suspect photos should be compared to previous orbs captured with the same camera. It is so important to pay attention to the small details about the orb or orbs. Do not assume that every bright orb is a spirit orb. Bright orbs may be resulting because the anomaly was too close to the lens when the flash discharged.
Most often it's water or dust particles. Light reflecting off of them will be misconstrued as paranormal in many cases, but it's false. Dust, rain drops etc...even high humidity...can look exactly like spiritual orbs at times. Depends on the condition of the atmosphere when the pic is taken.
Spiritual orbs are referred to as the soul of a being, complete with intelligence and emotion.
The orb or sphere is common in our every day lives. The earth and moon are spheres. Our blood cells are sphere shaped. The vision of Black Elk describes hoops within hoops. We use the symbol of the circle to represent eternal existence, with no beginning nor end.
When the spirit is moving about, its shape is an orb, but when it comes to rest, meaning that it is no longer in motion, the spirit energy that is compressed within the orb is released and this spirit energy expands into what we call Ecto-Vapor or Ectoplasm. Often an orb will contain more than one soul and when its spirit energy is released, multiple orbs flow forth from the single orb. The orb may be observed as a small white sphere shooting through a room and through a wall. When recorded on film, the orb size is often confused because the photo is only 2D and its size is dependent on how far from the lens the orb is when captured by the camera.
I have a picture on my yahoo 360 of several orbs at a construction site. I wish you could see it full size. I thought at first it was dust, so the person I was with I had kick up the dirt and do different things in front of the lens while I snapped pictures...I couldn't recreate the orb effect. The air was relatively dry, so I don't believe humidity played a role, and there is a sense of depth of field, so it's not dust on my lens. Interesting photograph indeed. :-)

I have several pics with orbs. What I have always believed that it is someone who has passed over. Not always some one that you know either. Their have been some cases that these could and can be people that have been gone for many many years. On the other hand it could be a spirit guide for that individual.

A bright flash on a digital camera with a large depth of field causes the orb effect when there is particulate matter (snow, dust) in the air.
Honestly.

They're either dust, a glare of the lens or a problem with the camera itself.
Angels and spirits DO exsist, but trust me; you can't see them just by using a Kodak.
And to whoever quoted Sylvia Browne - wake up. She's been exposed as a fraud. A study from 2002 to 2004 showed her predictions and advice was corrrect 18% of the time.
The same study, done to a bunch of non-psychic college students, where they just guessed randomly yielded a 51% accuracy rating.
She's a phony and a fraud and she gives people false hopes and beliefs.

My cousin is into that whole ghost chasing thing. I have a picture that was taken of my aunts house while it was raining. There are little orbs on it. I suggest that its a reaction of the flash with the raindrops, but she is positive they are souls.

Tons. Some people believe they're spirits. I don't, I think they're dust. Some of them definately are dust, even those who believe that some others are spirits will admit that. Why they sometimes show up in pictures and sometimes not, I'm not sure. I doubt anyone's devoted much effort to finding out.
