I accidentally threw a postal money order into the trash - when I realized it, I went out to try and salvage it from the big trash bin outside. The bin was full. As I was searching (yukkkkk), my neighbor came out with a camera and started to take pictures of me. When I protested, he said it was to make sure that I put all the rubbish back... I said, "Of course I will..." When I finished with the trash bin (put everything back there... yukkkkk), I went to the neighbor and told him that I had placed everything back as it was and now, can he please delete my pics from his camera. He said, "no, I have the right to take pictures of anyone..." In short, he won't delete the pics... What can I do?

thanks ya'll. I did call the police and it is exactly as you say... can't force someone to delete my pics from the camera... I also called landlord to report the incident. And Thank you for the "harrassment" idea! That's precious! If he takes this up a notch, then its probably time to call a lawyer.

Sounds creepy...you might just want to make a report of the incident with your landlord in case the pictures show up "somewhere" they shouldn't. That way you'll have some sort of witness. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it too much. It is weird that he's keeping a picture of you though. Maybe call the local authorities and ask them about the situation?
I hope you found your money order!

yes your neighbor has the right to take pictures of anyone or anything that is visible from the street or his yard. He does NOT have the right to peep in windows though . make sure you keep your blinds/curtains closed

Yes, he has the right. However, he doesn't have the right to release those pics to the public without your consent (especially for profit). I think you should just let it go though, who knows your pic might win an award, then you can sue his ***.

Not much. You could call a lawyer or police to see what real legal rights he has, but I dont think much can be done. Let me know i would like to know what can be done if this happens to me!

You are not doing anything illegal so I wouldn't sweat it. If you are really concern I would contact a lawyer or the police and ask them what your legal options are.
He can't sell them or post them anywhere without your written permission. If he does you can sue him for them.

Sounds like a jerk. Best not to get involved, jerks love things like that. But there is nothing illegal about the pictures unless as stated earler they are used to defame you.

this start reporting him for harassment to the authorities. this way you build a case against him. or have something on file just incase he takes it a step further.
p.s. if you're under 18 you might be able to get something done about his unwanted attentions.

Yes, when someone takes a picture it is their property to do with as they wish. As long as they don't use the picture against you or try to publish it, there is nothing illegal about it. Sorry :(
