I would say get over it. Who are you trying to impress? Girls will think that it is cool that you have a dog (no matter what the dog is). Guys may think that it is goofy, but who cares about impressing some strange guy?!

Wow Standard Poodles were bred as a hunting dog and the funny coat cuts were done so their coulf still move all their joints in the freezing cold water when they jumped into it to retreive a down bird.
What are you embarrased about having a hunting dog?
You really need to get therapy. Who cares what anyone thinks what makes you think they are so much better than you. Most of them are just stupid ignorant a**es anyway.

Get over it! Why would you want to impress anyone who bases your manhood on what kind of dog you have? I dated a guy for 3 years who had a rott and he was the biggest Pu@Sy I have ever met. Standard poodles are cool. I would definitley not judge any guy for that. Now if he has a pink dye job thats a different story- Thats just wrong!

Poodles were originally bred as wet lands retrievers for the kill of a bird hunt,they were cut in patterns to help them swim better . There is no threat to your man hood by walking with a poodle. They are very smart dogs.

Get him a Butch haircut... Really, what are you worried about? You own one of the most intelligent dogs in the world. Standard Poodles are great. I wish I could afford one.

You don'T HAVE to use bows,you know. Put it in a kennel/working clip.
99% of the population doesn't know what a standard poodle is anyway. They can STILL be sporting dogs.Land or water work.
You might benefit from a little "self-esteem" training...LOL!

I think it's great to see guys walking feminine looking dogs in public, it actually shows they're not embarassed about it and shows that the guy is comfortable with himself : P

I bet your dog isn't embarrased to walk with you. Who cares what others think, I think the only people that would say something are the same ones that do hyper masculine stuff all the time because they have small weinies!

Dogs are a great way to meet people. Lots of people will approach a stranger who has a dog, even if this is something they would never ordinarily do.
Take your dog to the park, or even to Petsmart, and see if you don't meet some women. I'm sure that will make you appreciate him more.

Oh grow up. Is he YOUR dog??? Do you love this feminine Looking dog? What if someone told you your child was ugly/funny looking, what would you do? Maybe if the dog is such a drag for you, he needs a LOVING home. Instead of the screwed up one he is in.
