I was reading the Bible randomly when i stumbled upon the verse Romans 8:29-30. This shows that churches are full of ****, teaching about some loving God. Ephesians 1:4-5, 11 also explains why God only loves the best of us...the rest of us losers, me included, are going to hell. Wish i was never born, screw church!

Predistination is found in Romans 8.26-32

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

People believe that predestination is a Christian concept in which it is believed that only a select few are saved, all others are damned, and that this is set in stone and known by God from the beginning of time.

This definition is actually for the word "Predetermine."

Which the Miriam Webster dictionary defines: "to impose a direction or tendency on beforehand."

To predetermine something is to "consciously" determine the outcome of something by an act of will, intentionally by design.

Does God "predetermine" things? Of course! Like when God said, "Let there be light." God DOES "predetermine" specific outcomes. But SALVATION "aint" one of them, because SALVATION is an act of "TWO" wills - God's and man's.

To DESTINE something... According to the Mirriam-Webster dictionary, is to:

a : to designate, assign, or dedicate in advance b : to direct, devise, or set apart for a specific purpose or place

My thought: Destine is the root word for "Destiny" which is defined by the Mirriam-Webster dictionary as: "something to which a person or thing is destined" [TO BE].

Destiny is speaking an end result. Like, "You are my destiny." Or, "This is my destiny." Or, "You are destined for greatness."

According to the Mirriam-Webster dictionary, the etymology of the prefix "pre": "Middle English, from Old French & Latin; Old French, from Latin prae-, from prae in front of, before.."

My thought: Pre-destine is regarding an "end result" that is purposely caused. Which is VERY close to "predetermine" - to purposely cause something "to be" by a conscious act of will by design. The difference is subtle, but VERY important (because "predestine and predetermine" are considered to be synonymous).

According to the "perceived" definition of "predestination" taught in churches.

"Predestination is a Christian concept in which it is believed that only a select few are saved, all others are damned, and that this is set in stone and known by God from the beginning of time."

This is to say that God chooses who will be saved and who will not be saved.

Obviously, Christ said something opposite of that:

John 3.16-21

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

If you notice throughout the text, Christ points to "free will" saying that "whosoever believeth", that they "do truth" and "chose" to come to the light; and that everyone who do not believe "loved darkness rather than light", "do evil", and "chose not" to come to the light.

This says that SALVATION is an act of "TWO" wills - God's and man's...

John 3.16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

In the context that SALVATION is an act of "TWO" wills, that has NOTHING to do with "predestination", look closer at the scripture text to see the context of the word "predestinate" (in context of the composite definition of "pre" and "destine").

Romans 8.29, 30

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son...Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

Notice that The Apostle Paul is speaking of God knowing who will "choose" Christ, that God "did predestinate [to be] CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON..."

Paul was speaking of God intentionally choosing to "perfect" those who received Christ; to CONFORM them into the IMAGE of Christ through a transformative process:

Rom 12.1, 2

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

I guess we have to keep visiting the same issue over and over. Why can't you God haters just read the other answers? Oh well, here goes again.. God does not live in time like we do. He knows the beginning and the end. All time lays open to Him see sees it all. He know the ones that will respond to Him, He knows the ones who will be bitter and hate Him. So hate Him if you will but don't hate Him for knowing more about you than you know yourself. He has seen your whole life unfold already because in is present in every second of it from your birth to your death.. Good luck with your argument when you stand before Him at judgment..

John 3:16 states that he loves all the world not some of it.

Romans 8 identifies that God choose a lineage for his son to come through into this world that is evident all through the OT upon the start of NT.

We all can become his choosen people:
By baptism we confess our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and testify of our death to sin and of our purpose to walk in newness of life. Thus we acknowledge Christ as Lord and Saviour, become His people, and are received as members by His church. Baptism is a symbol of our union with Christ, the forgiveness of our sins, and our reception of the Holy Spirit. It is by immersion in water and is contingent on an affirmation of faith in Jesus and evidence of repentance of sin. It follows instruction in the Holy Scriptures and acceptance of their teachings. (Rom. 6:1-6; Col. 2:12, 13; Acts 16:30-33; 22:16; 2:38; Matt. 28:19, 20.)

You arent the first person to wish they were never born. Job cursed his birthday at first. Naomi thought God was against her.
But God is close to the broken and Jesus is said to be the one who can heal the brokenhearted.

I think its often the people with problems who usually realize they need God and experience the love of God most deeply

I think you are misreading something. How do you know God doesnt love you. Anyone - including you can call on the name of Jesus and be saved and will be adopted by God and loves as his own child.

God offers the free gift of life to all, people far from Him and near.
We are all screwed up by sin and losers in some manner. We all sinned and screwed up. We all need TONS of grace and there is TONS of grace at the cross.

Sometimes someone comes to the end of their rope and reaches out to God, and God starts a renovation project on him.
Maybe you need to call on God, Jesus said he will not in any way reject anyone who really comes to Him, you should

Trent, that doesn'tmean that only some. Those He calls and those who answer Him. All we have to do is believe and trust Him. That's all. read it agian. All things work for the good of those who love the lord. that's us. if we answer His call, we are the ones He predestined. Don't be fooled into believing you're a loser. As long as you have Jesus and He has you, you'll never be a loser. Look in John 17

God loves all unconditionally. God gave us loose will understanding finished nicely that all people human beings ought to apply that loose will to split ourselves from the countless. So why ought to God supply up loving us if we are in simple terms exercising the loose will that "he" gave to us in the first position. God hopes all us will make a extra constructive decision and search for oneness with God particularly than separation notwithstanding it continues to be our loose received't to seek this oneness. surely we are all extensions of the countless, yet we ought to do not forget that interior of ourselves formerly that's a seem truth in our beings. also there is quite little distinction between Christians and Atheists. both deny God. Atheists deny God exists in any respect even as Christians deny God lives interior of themselves. They attempt this inspite of if Jesus reported that the dominion of God is interior of you.

I don't believe in that God you are talking about Trent, and this is why.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

god loves every person, but what he doesn't love are sinful habits that people have. if you are sinful, god still loves you, he just hates the sin inside you. do you really wish you had never been born? that is the stupidest and most selfish thing i've ever heard. what about the people who's lives you've been in and loved by? do you wish they hadn't been born either?
