He owns a 2004 Mazda RX-8 with only 6k miles. He rarely drives it and has another car that he drives all of the time so we don't need the RX-8. We plan on starting a family soon and if he keeps that car I will have to keep working instead of being a stay at home mom. Help!

Tell him to ditch the car for the Baby. He will hate it but will eventually do it. Try watching the movie "Nine Months" (there is a similar situation with a Porsche). Make a deal with him, if you get pregnant, the car goes.

Honestly, the RX-8 is one of the sexiest (affordable) cars out there, IMHO. Now, to your question, you two need to talk about how you plan on raising a family - if he agrees with you about the stay-at-home mom idea, he should be willing to sell the car. Maybe suggest he sells both of them and gets a sportier version of the car he uses regularly?

Do you have a car you drive too? You didn't say, but in any case, the RX-8 is one sweet car. I wouldn't want to give it up either. But regardless, sit down and discuss with him about the starting of a family. Keep in mind, you'll have plenty of time to trade in the vehicle when the time comes. You'll have to sympathize with him that yes, the car is super cool, but if you're to start a family, you'd need something more practical. Has he always known you wanted to be a stay at home mom? If not, you need to make him aware right now. Not all men are keen with their wives staying at home...and not all women want to stay at home...some of them like being at work (oh but not me!). The point is you've got to communicate these things to him and both of you get on the same page. Remind him that he doesn't have to sell the car just yet, but this is something you will eventually have to do. You'll get good money for it with that low of mileage on that super nice car. For something sporty yet roomy and safe for the family, you guys might want to consider the new Pontiac G6 sedan. The V6 sedan model of it is powerful yet smooth and is one of the most highly rated sedans out there right now regarding safety. I just bought one and I love it, but I also write automotive ads and have to know my stuff about cars and I did a lot of research before I traded up my old car. And that sounds like a very nice car. This comes to you from the man that has the 67 Cutlass in the driveway that he's had for 32 years. Now the wife says I can't part with it.
