I know weddings are really getting expensive but they are also getting outlandish. Why would you want to spend 15-20K or more. Save that for a down-payment on a house or spend more on the honeymoon than the wedding. It seems the couples these days want to invite everyone that has ever crossed their path. (are they thinking more presents or what?) Smaller weddings are a lot less expensive.
Don't go into debt to have a huge wedding. IMO that is just plain stupid.
More couples are paying for their own weddings these days as well. Not everyone can rely on rich parents.

Remember, the only really necessary expence here is the actual marriage licence. Other people may volunteer to pay for the fancy extras, but they aren't obliged to do so and you can't make them. So do the math.
Cost of wedding
minus amount others are willing to cough up
equals amount you can your intended will be paying

it depends on your location.
my advice is to set a budget... from there, figure out how much you will allocate to each part of the wedding. this will drive the number of guests and where the reception will be. Don't forget you need money for your honeymoon also.
If you are near a metropolitan city, plan on around 50k. Otherwise, about 25k should be enough.

Depends on if anyone is helping pay. Traditionally, the bride's parents pay for the wedding and reception....the groom's family pays for the alcohol at the reception and the rehearsal dinner. However, if noone is helping pay then you will be responsible for all of it. Good luck.

That depends on many factors. Are you talking about traditionally who pays for what?
If you are talking about a $ amount, that depends on how big of a wedding you are having, where you are having it, food, etc...
The average wedding costs between 15-20k

It depends on how lavish an affair you would like to have, and how many guests are coming. I'd say for an average wedding, plan on 20-30k.
