Due to redirection of blood flow, yes it can releive symptoms, but so does caffine for potential migrane sufferers, but this is not always true.

It's supposed to relieve it for a little while because your body releases endorphins when you have an orgasm. But, the headache usually comes back.

I wish I could remember where the info is, but there were studies done and yes, it cures a headhache. I just remember hearing it on the news one day, they worded it as "a headache is no excuse to not have intercourse with your partner, studies have shown that intercourse gets rid of headaches" "no more, 'honey I can't tonight, I have a headache' excuses".
