Ring NHS direct.

They will point you in the right direction.

There will be someone doing emergency treatment in your area.

Do you have a regular dentist? They do have an answering service and can come in for a "TRUE" emergency.

But sadly most of the time, they just tell you to take pain killers, and give you a next day appt.

You may have an infection and will have to take antibiotics before he can even work on the tooth.

Do you have a 24 hr. drugstore? Ask the pharmacist on duty for some OTC remedies for tooth pain. There are quite a few out there.

A natural alternative is Oil of Cloves, a few drops on the tooth will temporarily relieve the pain.

Good Luck! Take care of your teeth, you should have them cleaned and checked every 6 months!! Cheaper in the long run and less painful!

I hate to be the one to have to bring this up but, as only one person has voiced, 1. Did this dog go into the kennel healthy? Were there health issues with this dog? 2. Who has the body and who is doing the necropsy? If this dog was healthy, someone other than the kennel should be taking the body to a vet for necropsy. There may be a lawsuit pending over this and the necropsy needs to be performed immediately after death so the cause can be determined. If the body is not handled properly the reasons for death may be lost. Which is why I ask who is doing the necropsy. I am truly sorry for your loss, but having seen this happen several times in practice - I have to let you know that someone needs to be in contact with the kennel and have the necropsy done by someone other than the kennel's vet. I can tell you from professional experience that you should call your father and tell him. Give him the choice whether he wants to cut the holiday short or not. He will want to know. That's why he gave an emergency contact number.
