she has medicaid but the state we live in doesn't cover this but every so many years 5 and she had hers 3 years ago and since that time medicaid cut 10's of thousands of it's residents of this coverage anyone have any suggestions I don't want her going blind but she can't even drive anymore....

have you tried going to your local health department? oftentimes, the health department will have different resources available to help people with low income to get the health care and health equipment (such as glasses) that they need. you can make an appointment there and they can check you out at their clinic, which is usually very low cost for people with low income. it's worth a shot.

Take her to the thrift store to try on the donated eyeglasses.
