you should have called her after your sister got them, asked to talk to one of the kids, when she couldn't find them she would have to explain to you why she didn't know where they were. Then after you let her freak out a little, tell her you know where the kids are and for her to get out of the house and not return. This would eliminate the problem of her calling the police, and still teach her a very good lesson

rofl, I don't agree with a previous poster who said it was a bad idea. your sitter needs to learn in a way that she won't forget that kids come FIRST! All kinds of awful things could happen to your kids and then she would feel even worse. My little brother almost drowned in the hands of an irresponsible sitter like that once. My mom just fired her, but who knows what happened to other little kids she ended up sitting for?

I think she is being terribly irresponsible, and I think that is a GREAT way to show her in a way that she won't forget, and screw up yours or someone else's kids in the long run. I wish I was as creative as you!

I think that is a terrible idea. Good luck finding a new sitter after all this. You don't need to teach her a lesson in a cruel way like this, just fire her and find a new sitter. Funny idea, though. Your kids might think it is too funny and maybe they'll try to "surprise" you one day. I just think it is a bad idea.

I think that is a great idea......I would sooooooooo do it. Act like your gonna call the cops and everything. And dont pay her either....and when you "FIND" the kids just play it up and act like there aunt came to get them for ice cream or some **** and saw the sitter sleepin so she took them and tried to call you but couldnt get a hold of you so she wont think she got set up cuz then it will really make her feel bad. oh yeah and FIRE HER SORRY ***. think of what could've happened omg.

I would do it, but have the kids in the front yard and send her out to look for them while you call the cops, just a little scare and no false police reports. Fire her and check out your sitters very carefully.

OMG, I would love to be there just to see her freak out. Shame on her...how sad that you have to check up on her like that.

This is going to be a hard lesson learned for her - if she is young, I would get her mom involved too. After all is said and done, ask her what she thinks her time is worth sleeping on the job, I'd be interested to know what she says.

Good luck, I'm glad your kids are safe and this can play into your hands as a good lesson, not a scary bad one.

you need to have your sister wake the sitter up and tell her that she is fired and to get out of your house.Your plan may back fire because she may call the police to your house and report your kids missing.

That is exactly what I would do. make sure you act like your going to call the cops because you are so freaked out. Actually, I think you can press charges for child endangerment.

If you want to wise her up-then its a great plan, just be careful not to go to far, and be open for laughs in the end otherwise she might freak out and start crying or something. try to keep things friendly if you want her to sit for you again, but if not go as far as you want.
gl! this will be an experience that she'll remember!

I think it will teach her a lesson and scare the crap out of her. But she does deserve it. I think I would look into another babysitter too. I would like to just see the look on her face. LOL!!!
