I have a gt mustang conv and i am trying to find out if i can switch out the engine and transmission for that of a 94 thunderbirdsx. they have the same size engine but i think the tbird's tranny isn't aode and i don't know if the drive shaft is the same length. a little help please.

Get the drive shaft and trans. cross member. If they are the same size motor it will be a snap. If they are different cubic inch motors , you may have computer problems on the sensors and timing. If the motor in the mustang is good and you just want a bigger motor (v6 to v8) it WILL COST you more money in the long run than selling you car and buying exactly what you want.I have spent twice the money fixing up old fords than what they sell for.( But it is fun) If this is you only car leave it alone and buy you one to make it cool , If this is you second car , then have a blast , you will figure it out as you go

I wouldn't think there would be much of any difference between the two, overall. The drive shaft would be shorter in the Mustang, but everything else should bolt right in. If you think about it, The T-bird is just a little larger than the Mustang.

The engine and tranny are both the same, the drive shaft from the mustang should work, be measure it just to be sure

maybe if u measure the lengths and diameter of the drive train than maybe it would fit.

yes the transmission will bolt into place , no problem
