There's nothing wrong with shopping, but doing it excessively is not good. Think of all the people in the world that don't even have the luxury of going shopping. You are wasting your money on stuff you probably don't need while there are people in Africa that don't have clothes to wear or even food to eat. If you stop shopping so much and instead give that money to charity, you will probably be much happier and you will feel much better about yourself.

well, what i do is i go to a store with no money and if i find something i REALLY want, i go back the next day with only enough money to get that. I used to take too much money and spend too much, but i'm trying to stop that and that works for me. That way i'm not indulging, but i don't feel deprived, either because i'm getting things i have to have, but not wasting money on things i don't really want/need. So,say, you have to have a certain CD,try taking only enough money for that CD. Cash. No credit card. That's probably the best advice right there.

Get to the root of it... we are being tricked into all this shopping. It is uneccesary. You have food shelter and clothing? Are you being tricked into the fashions magnet? It will leave you with out caring. people don't care all that much. So what if your wearing some combo of clothes you already have?
It reminds of when i quit smoking - my friends barely noticed, so why did feel so attached to it? it was an illusion.

if you have credit cards chop um' up! If you have spare change stick them into an acount that you're not allowed to touch for X amount of years. When you go to stores get what you need and only what you need. Essentials!!!! Ask friends and family to keep an eye on you.

Go to the store try all the stuff on and gradually put it back. That way you have time to talk your self out of buying things but you satisfy your need to shop.

just dont do it. get some control over yourself. sheesh. cut up your cards. if you have the money to do it, then fine. but if you dont then eventually someone will stop you...your creditors when they shut you off. then think of the overdraft fees, late fees, etc... i assume however that you dont have the money cuz you are asking this question. just be responsible & quit. ugh.

Just dream of what could you buy of real value in the long run if you save what you spend on shopping.
