i don't think so, i think the media just shows more of it, i think it is accepted less today than even 30 years ago (with racism, for example-which was accepted by all of course but some groups accepted it)

It is not more acceptable today, however, people are more "immune" to the shock of it because it is more commonplace.
For example, when TV first came out and they showed married couples...they slept in separate beds. TV by today's standards would be shocking to people who grew up in generations when it first came out.
So, all the violence today would be shocking today to someone who grew up in a generation where there wasn't much violence. However, since there is so much today, people generally go with a "I'm glad it didn't happen to me" attitude and go on their merry way.

I would say.... no
We just see more of it around the world than we did in the past. Back "in the day", the only time you saw violence was when it was right in front of you. In a lot of cases, that gave you the opportunity to act. Now we are spectators to a lot of violence and we just can't do anything about it. We can only watch.

acceptable, yes. it's more prevalent today than back in the old days. before you'd just hear abour people getting kill by such and such. nowadays, you get live feeds or tapes showing the actual murder in progress. desenitizes you to a certain extent. other stuff by comparison doesn't affect you like you thought it would

It's not more acceptable, it's an epidemic. A whole generation hooked on gangs and drugs. Sad
