i have a club. we want to get as many people as we can to adopt their pet from the humain socity. any ideas of how to make this work?

I tried to do something like this for the animal shelter my wife works at and the question got yanked! Good luck, but this site is not the way to go.

Talk to the people at the humane society. They have a lot of ideas on how to promote pet adoptions. One of the best ways is to simply take some cute puppies or kittens to a shopping center or mall, set up a table, and start handing out information about where the humane society is and all the wonderful ways that animals improve the lives of their owners.
You could also set up a website for your club and link to your local humane society, or even create a web page with the animals currently up for adoption and keep it updated, so that people will be able to see how wonderful the animals there are. Good luck, it's a great cause!

First get permission from the owner of the humane socity.
Then have the people in your club hold an adoption day, to where the people can have a chance to meet the dogs and hopefully adopt them.
The day before the adoption day you might want to clean the dogs up though.

Contact your local Humane Society or animal shelter and ask to volunteer with them. It's a great way to help them out.
I volunteer with my local shelter by walking the dogs that live there so that they are calmer and more relaxed when people come to look at them, I take the dogs to adoption events at places like PetSmart so that more people get to see them, and I help put up flyers about the shelter around the place that I work.
Your local shelter will have many more ideas about how you can help them get the word out about homeless dogs and cats.

The local shelter here has an adoption fair every saturday.
they have hot dogs, sodas, sometimes they even have face painting and games for kids!
they try to get people and kids attracted to the fair and at the same time they are there for a good cause.
now, you could charge for the food, drinks, etc. or you could charge an admission fee. if you have an admission fee, then the fair better be pretty cool.
i'd go with $1.00 hot dogs and .50 sodas if i were you.
find a place to have it, like a local feed store or pet store. even a local park like maybe at a farmer's market.....have it on a saturday morning to

I admire your will and drive, and I just hope that your local humane society is better than the one we have here. The one we have actually destroys more dogs/cats each year than it puts up for adoption - it's a really bad place, and it's common knowledge. Always encourage people who are looking for a new pet to check out any shelter or rescue groups. Buying puppies only encourages people to breed for profit, which has created many poorly bred animals that are sickly and also of ill temperment. Check on Petsfinder. com for all the rescue groups in your location. I know if you really wanted to help, one of them would welcome you as a volunteer to their organization.
We are always looking for more helping loving hands and hearts.

I agree. In my case I have adopted two dogs that were abused, and they are wonderful little pets now. One in fact was even shot prior to coming to live with me. The animals really do apreciate being saved.

your doing a great thing! wish i was in your club!
well you culd make flyers and pass them out or put them on the doors of houses.
you can do car wash and the money you get donate to a humane society. oh and give them flyers if you wash their car.
you could make realy big posters and and paste them too stores (ask permission from the store owner)
sell cookies and do the same as with the car wash ( donate the money and hand out flyers)

Learn to spell or use the spell check first so you sound more credible!!!!!!!!! If you can't even spell Humane or Society, how can you expect people to take you seriously????
And most people know about Humane Society adopting, so if they decide to do that...good for them. If not...it is the decision they have made.
