No it is not fair, but that is the way people with no education and no compassion are. My view is that if Mexicans would all come together and boycott everything in America, not buy ANYTHING AT ALL for a significant period of time(1month or so) then things may begin to change because the Politicians and business owners will see how much they really rely on Mexican people to keep their businesses profitable. I know that none of the cities or communities near the border would survive for a week without the purchases being made me Mexicans, I know this because I am an American and I live in Matamoros and am back and forth every day so I really have a unique view of what is really going on, unlike the majority of Americans. I know that it must be hard for you to deal with the criticism and the prejudice, but do your best to ignore it because as I said it is only uneducated and ignorantpeople who would treat any human being that way.

The United States has been the object of attacks on different fronts. Do realize that since 9/11, everyone is considered as a suspect. I remember back in 1991, when my girlfriend and I crossed the New York/Canada border, Canadian guards asked us for our id's where we were going, how many days were we going to stay, firearms, etc.
I live close to the border in Arizona. I have shopped in Aguaprieta. Again, I have to follow the rules my Country demands of me. As far as your authorities go, don't get me started. Your authorities bully and rape immigrants from Central and South America who try to cross to the US through Mexico. Mexican authorities caught two Puerto Rican young men, arrested them for no reason and tortured them. That appeared in Primer Impacto or some news I was watching over at Univision.
Like you said, it is your money, but regardless of your Nationality, everyone has to go through the same, overwhelming, process. But, that is the price the US has to pay to keep its borders (Canada, Mexico, the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts) out of harm's way.

I feel ya too
I am proud to say that I am dating a Mexican who's born in Mexico....and every time we go out somewhere people always turn their noses at us, even at walmart! I believe that America should let immigrants from Mexico and Africa (poverty) come to the U.S cuz its obvious that the critzens are suffering.... America is suppose to be the land of the free(which America doesn't deserve that title, due to the war and other events), but I guess America is full of lies......... America is full of crap....... we as the Americans, don't have the right to say that immigrants should stay in the own countriess, As far as I concern, this is not our own countrie..........We didn't discover America first, It was the native Americans.......

It's not personal, just dumb and still part of the collective hysteria that's taken up the whole country. They do it to Ted Kennedy too, so you're in good company. The best thing to do is just try keep away from there until they take out what ever was that crawled up their butts. Besides, in today's world, if you have all the money you claim, it's all the same crap wherever you go, anyways.

Actually, a LOT of OTM's (other than mexican) have been CAUGHT coming through mexico!!! They have caught people from Iraq,Iran,Syria, and other terrorist countrys, sneaking across the mexican border!!!! Also, there is talk of the MS-13 PUNKS, smuggling terrorists and dirty bombs into the U.S.!!! We can NOT be too careful!!! I don't think it's UNFAIR to check ANYONE, from ANY country or nationality, that there may be doubts about!!! It's a matter of national security!!!!!

That doesn't sound very good. I wouldn't like it at all.
The thing you might not understand is: I have blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin, I was born here in America....and whenever I do any traveling...they search my luggage and question me and give me dirty looks...they just don't treat you like you're entering Disneyland. Securing our borders/airports/etc is supposed to be serious business. And from what I've seen, they're treating everyone that way in the airports.
As far as I'm concerned...your money's good here...as long as you have government permission to come for a visit and you actually leave at the end of your visit...and you don't steal from us while you're here...I'm cool with you.

If I were you I'd spend my money on my own people in Mexico. Do you realise how damaging it is to your economy when you take money out of your country and blow it on stuff for a name or a label? If you helped build your country up rather than helping to run it down in a few years you'd have Americans trying to sneak over there for jobs/money then you could employ them as servants and show them how to treat immigrants properly by example.

Ha! The Canadian officials treated me that way just to go to Niagara Falls and Toronto for a long weekend, so I think you are simply getting treated the way any foreigner going to another country gets treated these days.
