Put a box of baking soda in the bottom of the litter box, before you put the litter in.Also there is something called a booda box-walmart has them,it is a litter box that has a lid that helps contain the odor.

TRY THIS! I did this today and wondered how come I never thought of it before. I change the litter boxes out everyday but still it has a bit of a smell to it. After I sifted through it, I took febreeze and sprayed a little then mixed it, and repeated like three times....and it freshened the litter that was sifted through! Its also pays to get a good litter, I used Tidy cat ..multi-cat scoppable and it awesome. Also some people recommend putting baking soda and mixing it in after you have scopped all the kitty mess out. Ive never tried it but people swear by it. gl with your stinky kitty!

Oh and btw, if you get a scoppable litter it solidifies the urine so it can be taken out. that might be what you are smelling. :) I used cheap litter once, whewwww never again!

Get a LitterMaid. It's costly, but worth it.
You can also try a less expensive litter box that uses the carbon filters in the top "hutch" cover. (Drs. Foster & Smith carry a variety.)
Also, Arm&Hammer makes a litter box deodorizor. It's really good for odor!
Finally, if you don't already, use scoopable litter. It's better than the clay stuff that doesn't do anything for odor. (It sounds like you'll need to scoop it every time kitty uses it!) And if you don't want to buy a new litterbox, get the litterbox liners that sift out the clumps and leaves the clean litter in the box.

It sounds like your kitty has a lot of ammonia in her urine... that's the really stinky scent I'm guessing you're smelling. One make sure your kitty has fresh water and you may want to try switching her to a food with more grains and veggies as opposed to chicken or fish. Two, go to your local Petsmart or Pet store and go down the litter aisle. I don't remember what it's called but there is an all natural litter that's made out of something different that completely kills that nasty strong smell. (It's a light yellow color and small in size like regular litter.) It does cost a bit more than the regular stuff but is definitely worth it. For your kitty, make sure you bathe her. Get a special shampoo at the pet store or use baby shampoo. Also, in between bathings wipe her down with some baby wipes. Hope this helps!

Well, odds are if it smells that bad, she's going through a food adjustment. First, don't feed her anything by dry kitten kibble - let's not give her system anything more than it needs to digest. Second, you can add some baking soda to the litter box and that helps. Make sure she doesn't have dirreah, as solid stools usually don't smell that bad. I just 2 kittens that I fostered, and they also reeked - it was the worst I'd smelled in 30 yrs of cat care - and it turned out they had coccidia, a intestinal parasite that was causing problems. If it continues, you would do well to take a fecal sample to your vet and have it checked out.

Well clean her box daily. If not twice a day. Also dump out all the liter once a week and wash the liter pan. That should help cut down smells. You can buy this foam carpet stuff that is supposed to eliminate pet odors. I do not think you can spray it directly on the cat litter... but that should help.

Yup... there is a type of baking soda... like for your fridge... this helps out... There may be a reaction with the food you give. Try organic... (you can get it at a vet),... since they are like feline people, think to if you eat something that doesn't agree... stink city right.. same applies here... Try different food combonations.. My cat Demone (italian for demon) is the same way. So I just changed the food and there is still some fecal smell but not that much.

I presented homestead a kitten too early - mom were hit by a automobile... he did not do the grooming difficulty, both. I actually gave him a bathtub the different day (which he initially loved if I were given in the tub with him) ultimately someone reported getting an older cat. pungent cat did not at cutting-edge %. up on grooming conduct, notwithstanding the recent cat ought to carry him down and sparkling him a minimum of. Now he's 8 and nevertheless no longer so warm on self-cleansing. If I placed a touch butter or tuna juice on his paws it bounce starts the licking sufficient that he will in a large number of situations supply him self a bathtub. in the different case, I dunk him in the tub. he continues to be notably pleased with it, i think considering i have been doing it his total existence....

Cat poop can be a bit stinky but it usually doesn't reek. We have a cat like this who smells horrible, and we tried everything from changing her food to putting a charcoal air filter in the bathroom. None of it worked, so out of desperation, we took her to the vet. The vet told us that she has something called irritable bowel syndrome. It is incurable but can be controlled if you know what to feed them. It might be a good idea to contact your vet about your kitten's smelliness, since it could very likely be caused by an illness.

first off, you need to clean the litter box twice a day at least, or it's gonna smell. then, use oder-reducing kitty litter, such as fresh step litter to get rid of the oder. if that doesn't work, prepare to wear clothes pins on your nose, because unless you get rid of kitty, the smell will stay. unless you put the kitty box in the basement.
