Check with your doctor, he might be able to help you get samples, and maybe put you in touch with some help in receiving this medication. I too take paxil and my employers insurance helps with the cost of the medication. Once you do start paxil, do not go off of it cold turkey. You will have some side effects when you go off of it. Please contact your doctor. I know that some people think depression is a bunch of bull, but until they have been there, they don't know what they are talking about. Good luck my friend.

It is imperative that you take the medicine that your P-doc prescribes, for he knows what is best for you. You may have to try several different medications, but not for the concern of price...for the concern of your mental health. Every anti-depressant is different. Some work well for different things, and some work well on certain people, and not on others. I suggest you find yourself better health coverage. It's not a matter of finding a cheaper medication if you want to get better.

Cheapest prescription for depression is to walk for 30 minutes every day and to write your thoughts good and bad. Keep good ones and throw - really throw bad ones. Once and for all!
Good luck

Zoloft and Prozac (the older ones) are generic. Rather cheap. Also SSRIs.
Whether they will help you or not just depends on you. All meds effect different people differently, but I definitely tried those two because they were cheap.

There are programs in your state that will help you pay for your prescriptions. Do not be afraid or ashamed to use them. The pharmaceutical companies are out to screw you. If you can get help get it.

Talk to your doctor. They may be able to give you enough samples to find out if the medication is going to work for you before you have to buy it. At least you would know it works!
Good luck!
