Wow. I truly understand how you feel, but blaming your mother will not change anything. They really didn't know much about Bi-polar back then, but there is so much that can be done to help now. When we place blame, we are also caging ourselves saying that there is no hope, and we are stopping any kind of healing. To forgive is the only way that we can free oursleves from this cage - when we forgive, we are no longer bound by the limits of our anger and resentment. Then we can focus on what we are going to do about what life has thrown our way.

Calm down sugar. Bi-polar is a disorder that is treatable with meds. It's okay. I'm bi-polar, my mother is bi-polar and so on ... yes, it's tough to accept, but the fact is that your mother gave you a beautiful life. Selfish to bring you to the world? Please. It sounds like you're the one being selfish right now. If you were diabetic and had to take insulin, would you be as upset? No. Would you wish your mother had never given you life because you'd have to watch your diet or take medication on a daily basis in order to live? No. Bi-polar is just as much a physical illness as diabetes. Sure, it deals with the mental aspect of things, but the chemical imbalance that is the basis of the disease is physical. You are allowed to cry and be upset. But don't be selfish about something that is so easily treatable ... and never, never wish yourself dead!

Bi-polars can have a normal life, too. And just because your mom has something doesn't mean that you will get it. My grandmother had diabetes and I don't have diabetes. It is not her fault that she has bi-polar disorder, and it is not your fault that you have bi-polar disorder. These things happen so we can learn from them, not so we can feel sorry for ourselves. I would rather have bi-polar disorder than be stuck in a wheelchair all the time, wouldn't you? I was born with a heart problem, and almost died...but it wasn't anyone's fault that I have that problem. It's how you handle it that is important.
I agree with The Wraith's answer too.

Don't be selfish. Being bi-polar isn't the end of the world. Some of my best friends are also in the same boat as you and they have managed through counseling as well as good relationships with friends and family. Think real hard and you'll figure it out.

REMAIN CALM,
you can live and be normal, blaming others is part of the Bi-Polar illness. There are many sick in my family and well I don't talk to them anymore, you must find someone to be your family and it will not be easy. Its impossible to do if you are sane trust me I see it everyday.
Plus remember everyone is in some degree insane you are just someone that has been documented vs many that aren't.

There are treatments for being bi-polar. Would you rather to not have been born? Quite being so ungrateful. You could have been without your legs.

You can't blame your mom for your condition just because you inherited it from her. She didn't wish it on you or herself.
I think you are the one being selfish for blaming her for your issues. I'm sure if she could have changed it, she would have. She can't control who she is or who how you turned out to be. Everyone gets dealt with some sort of thing in their biology that we have to learn to deal with.

Its doubtful she "knew" you would get it. there is no specific saying if your a mother you will give it to your daughter etc. I am bipolar i got a father with bipolar. i dont blame him for my problems. you kind of sound like the selfish one blameing her. hopefully your young and dont know any better.

Do not blame your mother, she did not know. My mother did not know the crazy gene would hit all of her kids because she did not know there was a crazy gene. I do not kow that doctor know now if there is a crazy gene. Ease up , she is probably doing the best she can.
