My hair is a little past shoulder length with long layers - what is the trendy way to put it up? I was the last one to know when scrunchies went out of style - and I have been doing the french twist thing with the big clippie - but I'm worried that's out now, too. I've been doing a plain ponytail with a black rubberband - but it seems so boring. Any suggestions?

Ponytails are back in...so keep doing what you're doing with the black band, but secure the ponytail low on your head (around the nape of your neck). Leave parts of the front of your hair down and wavy.
Another new trend of the season is the headband...have fun!

Here are a few great hair ideas that might help:
1.)Try putting your hair in a messy bun, and add a little bit of hairspray so it wont look frizzy or anything.
2.) Or you can pull together 3 small ponytails, 1 from the right side, 1 from the left side, and one from the top. Then braid those 3 ponytails. And if you want to jazz it up a little, you can snap in one of those shiny, dazzling barettes, or try one of those huge flower clips. Any way you do it, I'm sure it'll look gorgeous!
3.) There's always highlights too. Like if you want to make your hair look wild but well kept together, add in a touch of red or light blue or something! Well, I hope this helps!

you should always do your hair the way that YOU like it. just do whatever suits you!!!

pigtails

what i call a half-tail (the top half of your hair in a ponytail)
what i call a cheero: start doing a ponytail but don't pull all your hair out, only half so there's like a circle.
prepare to do two pigtails and then take the top half of your hair and do a cheero and the bottom part down.
striaghten hair (great for layered hair)
wavy curls! (like the beach ones where you sleep w/ braids)
oh, and i love ribbons!!!! they're awesome! i made it a trend at my school!

i have long layers to and what i do is a part my hair down the back of my head and do loose low pigtailswear u tie them up by ur shoulders with really cute ribbons but do them a little messsy. its a really good beach look too! i no its not exactly wearing ur hair up but i thought this hairstyle would help!

Try an elegant chignon or putting it up with chopsticks in an elegant formal do.
